Most of the posts on this blog are about our son, Jacob. Mainly because he is much more interesting than Max and me. This blog is also being made into a book of memories for our family. Enjoy this peek into our lives!

First T-Ball Game

Jacob played his first t-ball game a few weeks ago and despite being hot and tired he seemed to enjoy about 36% of it. His favorite part was the "good game high fives". Keep in mind that he is a 4 year old on a 5 year old team. We wanted him to be on his friend's team because his dad was coaching.
He wanted to be sweet and hug his glove.

Not sure if this is his tough guy look or if he had a stroke.

Ah, that is better.

The girls tower over him.
Listening to coach.

Go Red Sox!

He's the guy with the blue mitt.

He's good at waiting for the ball to come to him. That means he never gets the ball.

Happy to see mom at second base when he arrived there!

Puzzleing

I am not sure what happened or when it happened but something did happen. Jacob has been spending lots and lots of time coloring and doing puzzles. Before, he almost never did these activities and often had to have someone playing with him. Instantly this has changed and can spend hour by himself coloring or doing puzzles. I found a lap desk for cheap and he found a puzzle at the same time. He loves his new art area!

Max took a half a day off on Wednesday so we could all go to the zoo. He had never been and Jacob loved showing him everything. Afterwards we went to our favorite park for the picnic lunch I had packed. Jacob had a chance to run through the spray park for the first time this year. He was in heaven!! Guess where we will be spending our summer?

Photographer

A few weeks ago Jacob and I decided to visit the Botanical Gardens. I thought it was early enough in the season to find some beautiful colors but apparently we are at the end of spring blossoms. Jacob thoroughly enjoyed it as he went around taking pictures with my phone. I took pictures of him taking pictures.
He soon realized that he could take better pictures in the shade. I ended up with about 100 pictures on my phone. Here are a few of the ones I kept.

He sat still enough for me to take this cute picture.
He would have stayed for hours but I had to find a bathroom. (He said he could hold it.)  We ended up driving a 100 yards down the road to the ghetto park. I call it ghetto because it was old and the play equipment was scattered everywhere. Jacob loved running from thing to thing and discovering the "new" play equipment.

Pictures

Enjoyed coloring his arm and tummy yellow. "I was trying to look like a banana!"

We babysat a cute little 2 year old girl and Bailey just followed him around everywhere. We talked her ear off but she didn't say a word. He decided afterwards that he needs to have a little sister.

I was picking up Jacob at playschool in the park and stepped over what I thought was a long skinny rope. Nope, it is a convoy of spikey caterpillars. They were following each other in a line to who-knows-where. We were all facinated and even the locals said they had never seen anything like it. Each caterpillar was only about 2 inches long and this convoy was about 5 feet long. They were moving fairly quickly and weren't stuck to each other. Just playing follow the leader.

Just had to capture a picture of this punk rocker caterpillar. I would love to see what kind of butterfly this turns into!!

This is a picture of Max's leg with hives. He had them all over his body and they itched like crazy. Of course, we have no idea why he got them and why they came on so suddenly. He attributes it to stress from a phone call he got earlier from work. Great, now he is allergic to work.
I made some Cheetos treat bags for Jacob's playschool Easter party. He thought the Easter Bunny had already come when he woke up that morning. He knew right away that they were carrots. Thank goodness.

Underwear?

A few weeks ago a friend of ours came over to borrow some eggs. We didn't know he would bring his 5 year old daughter with him. I answered the door and Jacob came running up. Kaitlyn was mortified to see her friend wearing only his underwear. Her face was classic and later that night when her mom asked her about it she exclaimed, "I did NOT want to see his underwear!!" Of course Jacob was oblivious to this embarrassment but quickly got his clothes on so he could run around outside with her.

Today Jacob and I filled a bird feeder that he made at playschool with birdseed and decided to hang it on the tree outside. He was watching as I reached high to hang it from a broken branch. My skirt decided to be lazy and slid off my hips and onto the ground. Embarrassed, I quickly put my skirt back on. Meanwhile, Jacob covered his mouth, wrinkled his nose, began laughing, and called for his dad to come out. For 37 years I managed to avoid this kind of event and today my luck ended. Although, if anyone was looking out their window at the time exclaiming, "I did NOT want to see her underwear!!", I can at least take solace in the fact that no one was driving by or walking their dog :)
