Around 4:30pm today we informed Jacob that we had a surprise that we were going to see. Usually he is very insistant about know what the surprise is but this time he just asked if he needed to close his eyes. As we got our sunscreen, water bottles, ice, and blanket ready to go he was very eager and interested to know what his surprise was. We got to the location, lotioned up, got him in his stroller, and before we could leave the parking lot we were told that all the hot air balloon for the festival had to be put away because of an aweful storm headed our way. We finally explained to Jacob what his surprise was and he was totally bummed and upset that we couldn't see the hot air balloons. He has been talking about seeing one for a while. We then decided on plan B: go to the mall to ride the carousel. He loved that idea and as we were leaving the downpour came. We explained that hopefully we can see the show tomorrow and he explaimed with worry, "I don't want to ride in a balloon!" He was glad when we told him we would not be doing that. Plan B seemed to be everyone's plan as well. Jacob decided not to go on the carousel but opted to ride the coin rides. Silly boy!

He wanted this motorcycle to go much faster
and was trying to make it GO! |

We also visited a play area where Jacob was
concerned that the bees on the carpet would sting him. |
