Most of the posts on this blog are about our son, Jacob. Mainly because he is much more interesting than Max and me. This blog is also being made into a book of memories for our family. Enjoy this peek into our lives!

Where Are You Sleep?
In the middle of the night Jacob came to our bed and said, "Can I way in bed wiss you?" After an hour I scooped him up and put him back in his bed. A bit later I could barely open eyes to our son at our bed again. "I swobbered on my bwankie, Mamma!" I think I just grabbed it, felt around, wiped it off on our sheet. A few hours later Jacob called from his bed, "Momma! Momma! What is that wight fwashing?" I had no idea what he was talking about, especially because I was asleep. I hobbled (my legs and feet hurt when I get up from sleeping) into his room and he had me peek out his window. There was a firetruck and ambulance in front of an apartment near ours. I was finally awake enough to realize that the lights were flashing all through our apartment. After discussing why they were there and Jacob got reassurance by asking questions like, "They are nice people, not mean? They are good for us? We can talk nice to them?" he decided to go back to his bed. This didn't last long and he ended up in our bed. He didn't sleep because the lights were flashing into our uncovered window. I had tried covering them with our half-way installed curtains but the whole thing clattered down on me. After the trucks finally left he decided to that sleeping in his bed would be OK. I think his father's snoring helped him make that decision. Who knew snoring was good for something. The rest of the night was uneventful. I am soooooo tired!
